The editor of the Rare Record Price Guide would like to have a scan of KLF 010-IT Deep Shit Part 3 (Illegal remix) 12" test press, presumably to for a possible mention in the next issue of Record Collector magazine. The recent appearance on ebay of two of the six copies known to exist has obviously grabbed their attention at RC headquarters, and subsequently may force a revision to the next edition of RRPG, especially as they both sold around the £1000 mark. Does anyone have any scans they can provide for this rarity?.....Tom?...

Is it IT or IR? Discog says IR but I guess IT is correct? If someone provides scans, please also try to scan run-out groove and maybe share these on flickr. -- anttil.
I tried to take some pics of the run out groove - not easyI'll see what I have - I have some nice ones of the full record - Can I post them on here?Unfortunately I cannot try taking anymore as the record is making it's way to the new owner as we speak.... Tom

I think mailer filters all attachments on this list so you should probably use image services like http://imageshack.us/ -- anttil.
I wouldn't read too much into Cat. numbers and matrixes not corresponding, going by the discography on klf info sheet #8 its KLF 0101R. It's impossible to say without knowing exact amount of records pressed. It's bit hard to believe these "only 3 pressed" claims, as I don't believe that any pressing plant would do only 3, even if it was a test press. BTW, there's a good article about vinyl pressing at http://www.crimson-ceremony.net/pr3/pressingplants/intro_tp.html http://www.crimson-ceremony.net/pr3/pressingplants/intro_vinyl.html It also mentions Orlake and MPO, which KLF also used. -- anttil.
Ok, so how much would a 'labelled up' copy of Love Trance (not the bootleg!) go for if it were sold on ebay? I'm not sure how many exist, but its most probably less than 20...if not single figures....so is it worth the same as 010-IT...or has the bootleg affected its value? The same can be asked of ETERNA1 which is supposedly limited to 20 copies. What's its worth now? Again the presence of the Italian bootleg may influence its value but didn't one of those sell on ebay recently for over £100 ??.....for a boot?? I remember when you could pick one up at a record fair for a tenner, but it seems even the boot is worth something these days. It's just that seeing KLF records pass hands for £1k suggests there is a sudden rise in popularity lately, and its making me wonder if I should start to dig out my collection and remind myself what I have... ________________________________ From: Ross Jarvis <jarvmeister@gmail.com> To: 'Tim Tim' <gunsofmu@yahoo.co.uk>; 'All bound for Mu-Mu Land.' <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, 29 February 2012, 22:52 Subject: Re: [KLF] KLF 010-IT The question is: How rare? Thing is that first you need to ask that what is the real Love Trance? Is it the recent version salvaged from Jimmys trash or that "marble vinyl" version that circulated couple of years ago? Or ones, which are the same as marble ones(?), sold back in the 90s? Of course, there has been labeled copies for sale, but as I recall, they have all been same as the marble one, with labels attached to them (and labels and covers DO exists separately). I still don't believe that marble version is KLF production, but it has to have some relation to real one. This salvaged one...I think that it's a demo version or similar, but it's all speculations. And of course, there's no proof that Love Trance (the original) was never pressed or even finished in the studio. And no one, not maybe even Bil and Jimmy, knows what the real one was supposed to sound like.
The same can be asked of ETERNA1 which is supposedly limited to 20 copies. What's its worth now? Again the presence of the Italian bootleg may influence its value but didn't one of those sell on ebay recently for over £100 ??.....for a boot??
"Italian" :) Well, it has nothing to do with the Italy, but it was pressed by Mike Dutton, who came up with all other interesting stuff (where the hell did he get that stuff anyway?). Always been wondering why he took only one track from Eterna 1 as it has(?) 3 versions. Btw, has anyone got the club mix _edit_ of Madrugada? I think I'm missing that one. -- anttil-

Turned up on the list somewhere around... 98-01ish, took money from a couple of people for Arkive CDs, sent them out to acclaim, took a bunch more money off people for a bunch more CDs and White Room movies and promptly disappeared from the list. (Other listmembers who'd received theirs kindly duplicated them for some of the folks who'd been ripped off.)

AKA gunnertim 'Ok, Everybody Lie Down on the Floor and Keep Calm' ________________________________ From: Len Goody <len7@btinternet.com> To: "klf@mailman.xmission.com" <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, 29 February 2012, 12:20 Subject: [KLF] KLF 010-IT The editor of the Rare Record Price Guide would like to have a scan of KLF 010-IT Deep Shit Part 3 (Illegal remix) 12" test press, presumably to for a possible mention in the next issue of Record Collector magazine. _______________________________________________ KLF mailing list KLF@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/klf Report list abuse to list-abuse at studio-nibble.com
