RE: RE: Becoming OT Re: [KLF] VCD
Not really. In my limited scope of knowledge, I could tell some things were going to be problematic from the description of the process. He just confirmed my suspicions. How you choose to compress your video makes a huge difference in the quality. It's the hardest part if you want to do it right. If VCD quality is good enough then it's probably not a big deal anyway.

I would almost say your professional DVD authoring friend feels attacked by the fact that an amateur is trying to do what he is doing for a living?
I mean:
4. If he doesn't realize this stuff, there are about 100 other things he does not know, so I bet he can't encode very well either.
Hey, mr! Let the 'amateur' give an answer first before you draw to conclusions... geez...

Attacked? no..but he should be..I am a certified Novell guy..and full time computer tech... I can come up with 10 million reasons why someone is completely stupid for wanting to install their own video card..but I can also say "It's not that @#$@# hard, and yes..it IS possible for other people besides your amazing self that are capable of understanding these not really complex things.. (there are more than just this guy who knows how to author DVD's..)

2. If he is on a Pioneer burner (which is probable) he is using A03 burner (those are the ones that do the DVD-R and DVD-RW). A03 won't work with the sucky $5 general purpose DVD-Rs (as opposed to authoring DVD-Rs). A03 burned discs also have more compatibility issues than A02 discs (the burner I have). Uh..check the stats bucko..the A03's can't do the DVD-R's for authoring..just the general purpose.. http://www.shop4tech.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?html_requested=dvdrchart Boy..it really makes me mad to see someone preaching and forgetting to read the book first.. A word to the "friend" ..Shut your yap..you are NOT the brightest bulb in the lamp.. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! RE: RE: Becoming OT Re: [KLF] VCDI was downloading some old Spectrum games when I came across a title I'd played years ago and thought it was kind of good (it was good trying to imagine what could be beyond the first level - travel 200 miles at 128mph without hitting any cars when all other cars are doing less than 1mph and filling up the entire road, impossible!). But this time I noticed the high score table is all different pop names (the game is called Rik The Roadie and you're a roadie trying to get to your gig in time!) and I noticed at #43 in the High Score table is Time Lords. Also in Starship Titanic has anyone tried saying The KLF to the Bell Bot (also works with other bands like The Beatles - so The KLF must be as thought of as the fab four!)
