[ot] crawl of the dead
Many apologies for going completely off topic here, but I feel I can post stuff like this on this list and not others I belong to because the typical KLF fan is open minded and likely to be up for this kind of thing, plus I know theres a few santacon attendees on this list. Crawl of the dead http://www.burneverything.org.uk/crawlofthedead/ like santacon, but with zombies, nuff said Hoo _________________________________________________________________ It's fast, it's easy and it's free. To add to The Illuminatus 23/17 coincidence (or is it 23/42 now?) I have just checked out this record breaking website and lo and behold... http://www.humanchatterbox.co.uk/progress.asp Number of calls made to date: 2317 I reckon that there are enough on this list to help become part of history! http://www.humanchatterbox.co.uk/be_part_of_history.asp BTW How many world records have Bill/Jimmy (or associates - e.g. Ken Campbell) broken? (Wasn't there one for cover versions of WTIL or something, etc)
Well, bizarrely, Ken Campbell holds the record for making the only successful stage show of "Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (and no, he didn't just sell 42 tickets). http://www.pfd.co.uk/scripts/get.py/stage/?playwrights%20CAMPBELK What the hell was "War With the Newts", btw? I can't help wondering if there are more versions of "What Time is Love" (on 12", CD, remixes, covers, etc) than there are of "Hitch Hiker" (radio plays, TV series, computer games, books, scripts, towels, etc)? ;) Seriously, though, I can't think of any records that Bill, Jimmy or any of their associates have broken. Maybe Echo and the Bunnymen did something during one of Bill's torturously strange tour itineraries. Or maybe Jimmy's "Lord of the Rings" poster sold more copies in Athena than any other? Anyone know? Hi everyone, I'll arrive in London tomorrow morning for a short three-days-visit and therefore I wanted to ask if any of you guys will be at the Foundry or any other place in London tomorrow evening to have some drinks with and talk about the good old times... Please drop me a line. And where can I find Sister Ray? Or any other great record shop? Cheers, Dan --- a.k.a. Kuta, KLF Online (www.klf.de)
Aye. My tongue wasn't entirely in my check there. It would be interesting to see where it stands in the "best selling poster of all time" stakes. I wonder, also, if its still in print - and whether it sold more because of the films? My copy is on the back of my cupboard door, btw, and I'm always seeing something new in the drawing. Really impressive work for a 16-year-old! Trouble is, I have to explain to people I own it because I'm a KLF nerd rather than a Tolkein nerd! Definitely still in print. I saw "fresh" copies for sale not that long ago in "The Orc's Nest" in London (Shaftsbury Ave), and I wouldn't be surprised if the recent films hadn't raised their sales, along with every other bit of Tolkein-related merchandise. Thing is, it's only ever the "main" poster I see for sale. Wasn't there actually a few in the series? Michael
Yes, there was. An old Russian site used to have (tiny) scans of many of them. I got two of his other artworks as postcards (pretty high quality), but was never able to find the third one. ..::// Thomas Touzimsky A fanatic is one who cannot change his mind and will not change the subject.
http://www.frogboy.freeuk.com/illuminatus.html An interesting article on Ken's production (which mentions Bill quite extensively, too). In other parts of the site, there a filmography of Ken's appearances on DVD, CD and video. I'd forgotten he was in "Fawlty Towers"! Did anyone on here see the 5hr version of Wim Wenders' Until The End of the World ? A friend of mine saw it and said that 3am Eternal was in it, but I've never had a chance to see that long version. (honest, not sure if I want to see the long version) but I was just curious about it. jr ----------------------------------------- Jeremiah "Spassvogel" Rickert 6'7" 320 lbs of Dr. Pepper and Pez Candy. -----------------------------------------
