To be honest, the whole GG thing was a waste of time. The problem is people like UNK, who try to over intellectualise the thing, its like Jackass. You could theorise that and try to intellectualise it but at the end of the day its a bunch of fucking retards acting like wankers. And no, it isnt funny.
kind of like this article? (which is funny) http://www.theonion.com/3936/top_story.html
The thing about GG is, he didnt matter (even I think that and Ive got some of his cds). Nobody has heard of him and therefore he didnt raise any serious questions or didnt pose a serious threat to society. Like Chicken John said, all he attracts is the biggest losers on the planet with the worst attitudes.
that being said, chicken john IS a loser ("am I bleeding?") AND he has a really bad attitude there's no doubt that he attracted big losers with really bad attitudes (like geraldo rivera), but I don't think that's ALL he attracted (his school music teacher, for instance, or dee dee ramone)
I think that Dino is a fucking nut by saying somethin philosophical like its a serious social statement on violence. As the guy at the end of Hated said "Did we in fact learn anything". No we sure as fuck didnt.
I think it is a serious social statement, if for nothing else but to ask "what kind of society creates and lives with this person?" and to some extent, tolerates I think it also brings up a serious question of what lsd and its effects are on individuals, including their propensity towards violence remember, a friend described his first trip as him taking off all his clothes, screaming, and smashing stuff, which basically was his stage act I'm not suggesting at all that lsd causes violence - I don't think it does by itself - but it's always been a part of the gg allin story that's intrigued me
