I'm almost sure it would have to be Mark "Spike" Stent.

Off the top of my head I can't remember who was being interviewed about them, apart from Pete Waterman (not exactly an authority!) and an ex KLF studio engineer called "Spike". Will check the video and get back to you.
BTW - I have the whole programme on VHS if anyone is interested....Quite willing to send to someone (preferably in Europe) who can encode it and then provide the webspace and bandwidth to disseminate to interested parties.

Quite interesting to see that they are still remembered for their music and these "ahead of their time" opinions... but who exactly was "everybody" you mention ? Had no chance to watch it here...

RE: [KLF] How to have a number oneStill working for Olympic Studios these days... I´ll mail them again, maybe he has got some more free time now so he can respond. I'm almost sure it would have to be Mark "Spike" Stent.

Not necessarily- he still seems to be a pretty high-profile and sought-after producer. For example his recent credits include work on Madonna's album, and branching out into doing remixes under his own name. I've always felt that the KLF's polished stadium house sound on tracks like Last Train To Trancentral owes at least a little to him. Yes - I´m always surprised (in a very positive way) to read the name of one of the "studio team" (Coler/Stent/Richardson) in the credits. Especially when it´s a critically acclaimed album. Makes me remember the good ol´ times of the JAMs...

Can´t compare to any other of his tracks or mixes. Is there anything you would recommend regarding his work ? Makes me wonder... I know what Coler and Stent are up to at the moment, but anyone knows what Ian Richardson is doing in these days ?
