A few weeks ago Mr Milne posted a compilation he was working on of the KLFs Greatest Hits. I posted a reply but it seems it was sent only to him, and not the list. In it I said that I have worked on something like this but always got bogged down in things like which version of J&A to include, etc. Thinking of him over the past week I set about to mimic his listing, with a few personal choices. John's: (1) ALYNIS (from JAMS23s) (2) Whitney Joins the JAMs (from JAMS24T) (3) Downtown (edit) (4) Burn the Beat (Possum Edit) (5) Doctorin' the Tardis (Video Edit from CDVideo) (6) What Time is Love (Power Mix Edit) (7) 3 AM Eternal (UK Radio Edit from KLF5R) (8) Kylie Said to Jason (From KLF010CD) (9) Madrugada Eterna (Club Mix Edit) (10) What Time is Love? (Live at Trancentral Edit) (11) 3 AM Eternal (Live from the SSL Edit) (12) Last Train to Trancentral (Live from the Lost Continent Edit) (13) It's Grim Up North (Radio Edit) (14) Justified And Ancient (Stand By the JAMs Edit) (15) KLF Vs. ENT (16) America: What Time is Love? (Edit) (17) No More Tears (French Radio Edit) (18) K-Sera Sera (War Is Over If You Want It) (19) The Magnificent (20) **** the Millenium (Uncensored Edit) Mine: 1 - All You Need is Love (original) 2 - Whitney Joins the JAMs 3 - Downtown (edit) (4.29 version) 4 - Burn the Beat (Possum remix) 5 - Disaster Fund Collection (Possum History CD) 6 - Doctorin' the Tardis (7" 3.36) 7 - What Time is Love (Power Mix Edit) 8 - 3 AM Eternal (Pure Trance edit) 9 - Kylie Said to Jason (7") 10 - Madrugada Eterna (Club Mix Edit) 11 - What Time is Love? (Live at Trancentral Edit) 12 - 3 AM Eternal (Live from the SSL 7") 13 - Last Train to Trancentral (Live from the Lost Continent 7") 14 - It's Grim Up North (Radio Edit) 15 - Justified And Ancient (Stand By the JAMs 7") 16 - America: What Time is Love? (Edit) 17 - K-Sera Sera (War Is Over If You Want It) 18 - The Magnificent 19 - **** the Millenium (Uncensored Edit) mostly the same but I dropped KLF vs ENT (because I'd probably skip the track most of the time) and No More Tears (because I don't have the version he lists and I'm not keen on the track anyway). and I used the full 7" of TARDIS. I've added Disaster Fund Collection. All tracks are common radio/7" mixes. The Madrgada Eterna edit is faked since I don't have an original on hand. I just took the first 2.45 (exactly the same) and the last 30s (slightly different) of the full mix. 78.35 so it fits nicely. I might modify it by making my own edit of Whitney (at 7m it's the longest track and not good enough to warrent it) and add either Build a Fire or Go to Sleep from the Original White Room. Probably the former. I'll probably add-on the full NASA recording to WTIL (trancentral) from the US cd single. It goes on longer than most other releases. the early fade always disappoints. Anyway, just throwing it out there. it makes for a decent listen in the car and the two year old seems to enjoy it (but he enjoys anything with a beat) -paul
