so i was right then.... a squat in Stockwell South London...
Apologies. Stockwell, Clerkenwell ... it's all Somewhere-in-Englandshire to me. :-) Also - I always thought SSL meant "Solid State Logic", but there could well be a pun in there. As fas as "Live From the Lost Continent" is concerned, that's got to be a joke. Unless it contains some "field recordings" from Jura at Solstice 1990! I've never really understood why Bill & Jimmy latched onto Jura as "The Lost Continent of Mu". Does anyone have any clues? I know Jimmy's schoolfriend had (has?) an estate there where "Waiting" (and presumably "The Rites of Mu") was filmed - but is there any other link? Also - if you heard the Bill Drummond interview on Radio Scotland a few weeks ago, you will have heard him dismiss "Illuminati" as "a conspiracy novel" (or words to that effect). One in the eye for those 23-occultists and "K" bores, thankfully. All we need now is for a dismissal of the dreadful X$X saga by Jimmy, and we can go home happy. I think it could be both, as they always did like their double-meanings, abbreviations and acronyms. What did KLF stand for again? And what does it stand for now? =)

I always thought it was because they wanted an island they could fly a bunch of blindfolded jounalists who wouldn't know where the hell they had ended up, and would therefore be in no position to argue with the assertion that it was indeed Mu. Even many of the other Hebridean islands would have more obvious signs of habitation and landmarks, as far as I know, although I think that is more your specialist subject John!

Don't tell Raymond, as I think he is aiming to restart the list =) I say good luck to him, he is certainly persistent. Regarding the 'Live' argument, i'm not sure about the singles as the crowd noise was obviously added, therefore they were 'pretend' live (ironically as was the much-criticized 'Live On Stage' CD) but in the case of Chill Out I always assumed it to mean that the album was recorded and mixed 'live' in one take, on decks (the many samples and other tunes that make an appearance) and perhaps a tape/DAT machine or two, instead of being assembled, edited and remixed electronically. Maybe this was also the case with 'Loving You', and there are a few KLF remixes that at least SOUND like they were created in one take, a good example being the Primal mix of WTIL which features 'half a snare' at one point =) --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
