I read the first ten pages ... then stopped, back when it first came out. Then, I picked up again a couple of weeks ago a read a bit in the middle, which was more fun - there's even a self-reverential bit where Bill (probably) says that their agents are worried that the first bit of the book is "too racist" and no reputable publisher will touch it - so, as Bill says, "bye bye Penguin" (original publisher of 'Bad Wisdom'). On the other hand, I think Jimmy's stamp book is probably the more interesting artefact. Bill should just bally well write on his own! Mark Manning should be down a well on his own. John

Has anyone finished reading The Wild Highway? I've only just started and I'm not really enjoying it so far. Please tell me it gets better!
Uh, this doesn't sound good. Received my copy about a week ago, but haven't had the chance to start it yet..
