Dave, if you look below you'll see I was actually replying to Gene's post, not yours =)
He said there was confusion regarding the log and pass being the same, and I was just commenting surely that made it simpler (Gene has since explained a possible catalyst for his confusion!)
Regarding your connectivity problems, if you think it may be due to your ftp client, I have accessed the server using trial versions of cuteftp (which is a limited trial) and flashfxp (which is shareware, and thus depending on your ethics, unlimited! ).
Try flashfxp, and as far as i remember the only thing u need to check or change is to go into options, then select the proxy/firewalls tab and make sure 'use passive mode' is unchecked. Then select 'FTP' from the top toolbar, select 'quick connect', type renigade2.dyndns.org in the 'server' field, and KLF Plus in the 'User Name' and 'Password' fields (case-sensitive with Space!). Ignore the 'Remote path' field, hit connect and, fingers crossed, you should be cookin. Keep in mind that the server is sometimes down, but you'll usually at least see Rob's welcome message.
If this still doesn't work, it may be your firewall is stopping you - ensure the relevent port is open for incoming at least (see previous posts for more detailed advice - port 21 I think)
Hope this helps....the homepage for flashfxp seems to be
www.flashfxp.com aptly enough.

When you use the information exactly as described, and it doesn't work, it doesn't seem very simple, believe me.
Perahps there is a 'simple' explanation, but as I've only used ftp for uploading my own site, I don't know what it is. I've been online for a long time, but like most people, tend to just look at sites and use email. I don't think I'm stupid, and I don't suppose anyone else is either.
Incidentally it doesn't work with other ISPs either, so it's not ntlworld; besides, you've presumably used it yourself with your ntlworld account. It's never worked in fact, which is why I didn't upload the Blacksmoke track when asked for it. This is probably down to my lack of some 'simple' piece of information I don't have, due to my 'simply' not knowing much about ftp.

In fairness to Rob, if the pass and login are the same I don't really see what could be simpler? =)
