I think B & J's wicker man burning on Jura in '91 predated most, if not all, of the later "wicker man" festivals which have sprung up in recent years from Edinburgh to Arizona, plus the one based in Kirkcudbrightshire where the film was shot.

The idea of a "wicker man" dates back to the days of (a slight mention by) Julius Caesar - but it has only gotten really cult-ish over the last ten years.

Most probably - either that or they just enjoyed the generic 1970's UK soft-porn elements of it... ;)

Hi and Happy Mu Year!

Did anyyone see the film 'The Wicker Man' with Edward Woodwood on new year's eve?

Released in 1973 it was about a weird cult of druid type people on a remote island in Scotland (not the Isle of Jura). At the end they set fire to a giant Wicker Man.

Surely not a coincidence. Rockman and Kingboy must have found the inspiration for the Rights of Mu from this film.

Does anyone know??!
