it *could* be them, that is ofcourse always true. though, having heard their previous 'hit song' before this release, completely forgot the name, i highly doubt it. that song was really so, so, SO bad! (though jimmie's Nokia-tune song back in the day was bad too, as was 2K's FTM, so perhaps he or they just lost it).
makes me worried, though. it is, indeed, a lot of effort for some kind of 'prank'. and that could be typical B&J style. then again, if they were behind the 'FLK', then seriously, they lost the capacity to write good music? and since I think at least bill is smarter than that, let's just assume they are *not* behind this.
btw: bill is doing a reading on Incubus festival next month here in The Netherlands. Who's going too? ;)

Ya know, I used to think these were just clever plagarists, but the more of this FLK stuff I see the more I think that at least Cauty is involved, if not Bill as well. This is almost like them having a laugh by going back and reliving their prefame indie years; doing whatever stupid shit they want and being retro in everyway imaginable just for a laugh. We all know Bill hates the modern music scene, business model, tunes...all of it. Maybe they just decided to get together and see if they could make something out of daft folk (there's a band name for you) and press some crappy CDs... fuck itunes.
The thing that's missing from modern music is the love. Now that anyone with a Mac can make an album and publish it online instantly it's almost anti-art. Perhaps the old farts have decided to get into their customized Delorean and turn the needle back to 1988. This is an aweful lot of effort and cash for some inexperienced rip-offs. Seems more to me like the efforts of experienced rip-offs who want to revisit turning shit to copper not for glory or money but just for the love of a lost culture.
I'm probably wrong. Just my two cents.

But seriously, is it even the same font on the cover? And on another note: FOLK music? Come on....
