Subject: RE: [KLF] Transit Kings podcast the rss xml file contains metadata which links you to a file, it could be an MP3, MOV, etc - the xml file doesn't take you to iTunes, and you don't even need iTunes to listen to a Podcast (but it's the easiest way) - you DO need iTunes to listen to an m4a. if you want to find out how to listen to podcasts without using iTunes, there are plenty of Podcast RSS aggregators you can probably find at podcast.net or other places... The problem isn't untested web pages, it's that the links posted were a) to the iTunes Music Store, for which you need iTunes installed, and b) to an XML file, which is pretty much designed to bring up "a nasty XML page", but is also handy for anyone who doesn't have iTunes, didn't notice the first time it was posted to the list months ago before other dude found it on iTunes, and wants to be able to watch out or have an RSS reader watch out for future Transit Kings podcasts.
