I taped it off the telly at the time (late 1995) but it was recorded in long-play (as was my space-saving habit of the time) and off a knackered old student telly.  I have it as an mpeg on a HD somewhere, although I think it's on Youtube, isn't it?  It's essential viewing really, although the actual "KLF" bit is the first five minutes intro, the rest is their K-Foundation days.  The film ends with the screening of WTKFBAMQ in Manchester, in front of an audience including Jane Casey and Tony Wilson.  A very young Jon Ronson can be seen in the back row, as a rookie reporter, being bemused and a bit dissaproving!  The very, very end is a plug for the "Help" album (more or less) and the running-a-car-off-a-cliff at Cape Wrath and not-talking-about-the-K-Foundation-for-23-years (i.e., until November 2018) is not covered - and it didn't happen yet!

John

PS - And Works DVD 2011 would need to include the "Late Late Show" Irish TV interview and the "behind the scenes" doc on the filming of the J&A and AWTIL vids, both of which klfcommunications.net upped to their youtube channel a wee while ago.

Also reasonably new to this list - so first of all; hi all :)

I know I have the Omnibus-documentary somewhere. As far as I remember it is fairly ok .avi-quality - around 600 megs in size. I'm sure there are other list-members who also have this, but in any case let me know if you want it, and I'll see if I can find a way to share it with you :)

It seems so, although I never knew until I just read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K_Foundation_Burn_a_Million_Quid

It’s not the film of them burning a million quid, however much of that is included apparently, it’s called A Foundation Course In Art.

Would like to see this, anyone know how to obtain a copy, I’m guessing it’s not on iPlayer……………. L

I'm new to this mailing list lark. Hope I get it right...

Andy Lee was kind enough to send me a copy of The Work on DVD recently, and jolly good it is too. However, I reckon it can be better. Much of the video's fine, but things like This Is Not..., Waiting and WTIL MTV could be re-encoded, The Rites of Mu and Stadium House could be cropped for widescreen, Madrugaga Eterna could be edited from The White Room, and so on. The real bug-bear for me is the audio hiss, most of which could be replaced with CD-quality audio very easily, and that which can't, I can record in real-time from VHS, minus hiss. Things like the "cornfield" version of WTIL, the TOTP appearances, the Brit Awards or even the Omnibus doc could be added too (or, in other words, a load of this stuff: http://www.youtube.com/user/klfcommunicationsnet).

Trouble is, while I have the means to record all this stuff, I lack most of the video. I have Waiting, Stadium House and the Indie video with Kylie Said To Jason, but that's it. I might, and this is a big "might", be able to re-source the music videos at broadcast quality too. But if any of the rare stuff can be included, I'll need your help getting some of it. If you reckon you can help, give me a shout at this email address, listing what you have and what condition it's in, and let's see if we can't create... I dunno, The Work 2011 on DVD? Got a nice ring to it I suppose. Might even use it as the title of this message... Thanks.
