I´ve read them and can´t say that I understood much But here in Germany there was one guy who was part of the "Chaos Computer Club" (an anarchic club of computer hackers). He became paranoid after reading the Illuminatus trilogy and saw governmental conspiracies everywhere. He even thought there were agents after him. In the end he committed suicide (some people believe he GOT killed, though) because of his paranoia. There even is a German movie about that guy. The movie is called "23". Neat, eh?
