does anybody know where i can get a copy of an article published recently in the 'guardian guide' (the tv supplement to the guardian newspaper) about the klf?
A search on their website only seems to mention this in the past few days output... http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4428133,00.html For a decade, only postmodernists and pranksters seemed to ally themselves to the group's music. On their 1987 What The Fuck's Going On? album, the KLF, in their early guise as The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu, sampled the entire intro and chorus to Dancing Queen for their track The Queen And I. When ordered to destroy all copies by Abba's publishers, they drove to Sweden in an attempt to find Benny and Björn. This, it transpires, is the first they've heard about it. Björn: "Why did they do this?" Um, they were making a statement about the nature of copyright. "Were they stopped?" Well, they came to Sweden, trailed by the NME, in order to explain their actions to you, but they couldn't find you. So they put all the remaining copies of their album on a bonfire. "That's good," notes Benny flatly. Hmm... :-O More recent KLF reportage at: http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4426110,00.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/Archive/Article/0,4273,4395595,00.html
