I always thought that it was supposed to be the sound of an old factory whistle/horn. They used to have these in the UK (I'm guessing back in about the 50's) to signal to the workers when it was time to change shifts etc. This was on the basis that the track was called IGUN, and that people thought that it WAS "grim up North" and that the factories etc still used the horns.... God - it's been a long day if I'm spouting drivell like this..... Craig!
