Hi Johan,
The DMC Mini-mix contains at least one sample from one of
those Ray Harryhausen movies – you know, “20,000 Leagues Under the
Sea” and all that – or so I’ve been told. I presume this is the pterodactyl which
bizarrely appears just after the orchestra tune up.
Presumably the bassline was put there by Brian Butler (the
remixer). He also put together
another megamix in 1989 (called “DMC: House ‘89”) which
included “WTIL (Pure Trance)” – although I’ve never
heard that one. Its 1988 equivalent
is on e-bay at the moment, though. Oh,
and the “May 1991” 12” sleeve does mention “The White
Room”. It’s just Lazlo’s
discography which doesn’t.
As far as all the KLF demos are concerned, I have the EP1 CD
(where “KLF Slo the Beats” is actually called “The Orb 6:01”).
I also have the MP3 Kollections CDs
(4 altogether). One of the files on
there is marked “demos” – but I can’t find it at the
moment! There are, I think, 4 demo
tracks altogether, but I can’t remember which is which. Sorry. Maybe somebody else can illuminate?
John
