Volume 2 sets the agenda for the coming months and beyond from the South LondonÂs envelope-pushing roster. Black DogÂs Invisible Things remix by Jimmy Cauty is an avant techno meets performance poetry track, off the forthcoming Genetically Modified album (release: 24th Feb 2003). TechnovaÂs Find and Seek shows the kind of production sparkle that makes your spine tingle, with itÂs futuristic pop rendered contagious thanks to itÂs succulent vocoder hook and unshakeable bottom-end beef. Next up, electronic innovator par excellence Metamatics drops the shimmeringly haunting Here To Go (Days Are gone) backed up by The Lithium Project who enter the electro-jazz lounge region of the brain with ÂIlluminationÂ, a seductive shuffle from the outer reaches of some strange underwater future Latino dance hall. Chamber, fresh from their recent string of remixes for Depeche Mode, Robert Miles and soon adding Yoko Ono to their armour, show their more sensitive side with their beautifully mellow ÂEasy as 1234Â. The irrepressible James Hardway picks up the pace with ÂSpeak Softly off the classic Straight From The Fridge album. The Minus 8 remix is a delicious lounged out affair which brings you beautifully into the blissed out warped Faith and Reason track from Justice, the track sums up Justice who is a mould breaking drum and bass evolutionary. Globo, silent for years, having been in and out of prison, get all lyrical with a homage to Independent Music Enthusiasts from their new Game of Solders album due out in 2003. Meanwhile NorkenÂs Detroit-ian digi-analogue ebbs and flows with liquid melodies and brain-surfing swells carried along on the gentle urgency of ÂEast .Leaving the rabble rousing A1 People to finish things off with a tough, sweaty and dirty, fuzzed-up beatbox track which is ÂDetroit StyleÂ. Each artist on Hydrogen Dukebox offers a different sound, style and sentiment that represents a diversity which if listened to as a whole brings the label together...... To celebrate our 100th release, we have decided to make this compilation available for a special low price. It's only £4 on the online shop now. You can buy it from the Hydromart already, and we'll deliver right away." Well, I'm going to order mine right away...! l8rs, Nick ;-)
