it was scottish pound notes "the kids are always being ripped off... and we're un-ripping them." - bill drummond ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Touzimsky" <thomas@klf.de> To: <nickwking@ntlworld.com>; "'All bound for Mu-Mu Land.'" <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 9:29 AM Subject: AW: [KLF] KLF live gigs
To add to the Scottish Pounds vs. U$ Dollars discussions... Either Vox or Details magazine also claim that it were Scottish notes because of the organizers raising their prices without giving notice before. Oh yes, here it is:
"They discovered that people would pay to see them. At one rave they were disgusted to find that the organizers had gone back on their earlier word, inreasing the admission price by nine pounds. In protest the KLF got their fee in one thousand Scottish one-pound notes, wrote 'Children, we love you' on them, and threw them into the audience. It was a symbolic gesture."
"After one song the money ran out. The audience then ignored the music and concentrated on hollering, 'We want more money.' It was a symbolic response."
