So, I've glued-up my crackly copy of Madrugda and will let you know how it goes. Looking forward to upping a bunch of new freshly cleaned rips soon!

I tried that and it works. You have to be careful not to let the glue dry too long. Remove it as soon as it has dried or it might get stuck a little bit too hard. Try on a record that you don't care much about first.
I find that washing with water and dish washing soap gives an equally good result and takes less time, just remember to wipe off the water with a cloth that doesn't leave fibres on the record.
