Hi everybody! Interesting topic but I have to clear two things up, I guess:
KLF010IR. These tracks come from Thomas and Dan (?) and their trip to London a few years ago. While there, they met someone who had the tracks: "Deep Shit (Part 3)" (the KSTJ/The Queen and I splice song), "Madrugada Eterna (Club Mix Full)" and "The Lover's Side (Extended)" on cassette - but NOT on vinyl.
Actually these tracks have been on two records, two twelve inches to be precise - NO TAPE! Both white labels but they had 'Adrenalin' in the run-out groove. One was Deep Shit/The Lovers' Side (Extended) and the other was Madrugada Eterna with the edit and the extended version on it. These records actually belonged (and still belong) to an old friend of Jimmy's whom he had all the stuff from. He was also the source for the white label SPACE promo with Jimmy's drawings on it that now finds itself in Thomas' collection. And by the way, this same guy claimed to have a cassette with a long version of "The Magnificent" on it, about 8 minutes as I recall. But I could mix things up there. Sadly enough we lost the contact and thus don't know if he has found that specific cassette after all! :-(
The klf.de guys then copied the tracks and took them home to Germany. So, the tracks of KLF010IR definitely exist - but whether the 12" exists, is another matter.
Let me get that straight as well... The tracks were recorded in the house of this Jimmy-friend. A mobile MiniDisc recorder was plugged in and the four tracks (and several others that are of the rarer source) were recorded. After that I recorded the disc digitally onto my harddisc and removed the pops and the crackling. So if you have any recording (mp3 probably) that is absolutely crystal clear then it's probably the one that I have here. Fact 1: Deep Shit (i.e. Kylie with Bill's shouting intro) and The Lovers' Side (Ex) were NOT taken from a flexi! It was a common KLF 12" with the typical KLF promo sleeve. I *think* the run-out groove said KLF DS 1 A and B on it. But for sure it had NOTHING with 'IR' or 'Illegal Remix' or 'KLF 010...' on it. But it is FOR REAL. Funnily enough, this friend of Jimmy's tried to sell his copy of DEEP SHIT on eBay about one year after our visit. No-one noticed the auction and he never sold anything through eBay again. What a story!!! ;-) Sleep tight and tell all your children. Cheers, Dan --- a.k.a. Kuta, KLF Online (www.klf.de)
