All,
I've been taking part in the mailing list now for a few weeks, as some may know I used to be a more active member towards the end of the 90s.
About 2 months ago I went to a family wedding. Whilst there I saw my uncle, who I'd not seen for a year or so. He looked at my car, a high performance vehicle which I absolutely loved. He had also been an avid fan of the KLF back in the early days, and he put the question to me: Would you swap that car for a beaten up old Ford Galaxie if you had the chance? Yes, I replied, but the opportunity wasn't there.
Fast forward two weeks, and we're awoken by the police at 6am one Friday morning. Apparently a gang of thieves had broken into our house to take the keys to my car, and taken it on a crime spree around this and neighbouring counties. The police said that I shouldn't expect to ever see my pride and joy again.
To this day it's never been recovered. But, the insurance has paid out.
So, now I have the opportunity to effectively swap my nice shiny new high performance car, for a 1968 Ford Galaxie. Read the next chapter here:
