Hi It's just "Jimi Cauty: Guitar And Keyboards", according to the credits on the inlay card of the cassette version of Brilliant's LP Kiss The Lips Of Life. He might have provided backing vocals, though, since the backing vocalists credited all seem to be female. But wasn't Jimmy more of a mystery ... because he had less history?
Bill Drummond isn't the only Scotsman who can rhyme and rap, you know!
The above was MY attempt to rap, or at least rhyme! I take the point about Finitribe, though. The only thing I've heard of their is "Forevergreen", and I suspect I have missed out on a lot.
Oh, and another thought about Jimmy on vocals ... does he sing on Brilliant's "Love is War"? He mimes in the video (and generally looks like he'd rather be many, many miles away) and there are male backing vocals. Maybe Youth and Jimmy?
Does he sing on any of the rest of the Brilliant album "Love is War" comes from?
John
Not Scots, just Scott-ish.
