I've just spent a very cautious five minutes scrutinizing KLF 92 PROMO 2 (both the black and clear vinyl versions) and KLF 92 PROMO 3 and all three seem to be written in the same style, which seems to be fairly small and very neat handwriting. I've got no guarantees that any of these are genuinue, but the clear vinyl version of PROMO 2 came from Miles (long time KLF collector and recent seller of PT3); the other two came from Ricki - who claims to have been given them by Sallie when he and a mate went on the scrounge. I've got no reason to doubt this. I've got a copy of ETERNITY 23 as well - the writing on this, although not machine-stamped, is much larger than that on any of the '92 PROMOs I've got. As for how much you'd get for it, it depends on how honest you want to be! If you sell it as a 92 PROMO 3 bootleg, you'd probably get less (although not much less I reckon) then if you sold it as a 92 PROMO 3... -----Original Message----- From: Don Gagen [mailto:klf-bounces+munkie=cloud9ine.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Don Gagen Sent: 05 January 2004 05:30 To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. Subject: KLF 92 PROMO 3 On that topic, I found out my version of PROMO 3 is a bootleg even though the etching is handwritten. Apparently if the handwriting doesn't match the size and style of KLF 92 PROMO 2 then it's a fake. It makes me wonder if there are any mechanically etched bootleg versions at all. Even more interesting is the fact that the handwriting does match that of a known bootleg, ETERNITY 23 (the one-sided Madrugada Eterna club mix) Mike Dutton claimed to have a hand in the ETERNITY 23 bootleg, which would probably mean that he helped bootleg PROMO 3. I managed to dig up a few posts from the list back in 98 which I pasted at the bottom. I don't remeber who I bought this record from, but I paid betwee $150-$200 USD back in 96 or 97. I have to wonder how many were made or how much I could expect to get for it. It must be the ghost of Mike coming back to haunt me. Thanks to Tim Richard etching info.
