Happy new year, everyone!
Okay, a quick query I was wondering about last
night ... Why wasn't "Madrugada Eterna" released as a full single? Does
anyone know? If Jimmy had just "left" the Orb to concentrate on the KLF, I
would imagine he would have been keen to have a single out (aside from the
limited KLF8R) as well as an album, and unlike PT 3 (possibly), 4 and
(again possibly) 5, we know the dance mix of "M E" was recorded, the
original actually been released twice already, and a promo "acid" mix had
been produced for the "White Room" film clip? I would imagine if it had
come out in spring 1990, it could have done quite well against bands like Enigma
and Deep Forest - who I think were releasing singles at the time
...
Anyway, does anyone know why this single was
pulled? What mixes would have been on it (maybe dance mix edit, dance mix,
original and the "303 video edit",as it's sometimes know - or maybe that would
have been the remix 12"?) Does anyone have any theories as to how the
KLF's career might have been different had they had an "ambient" hit four months
before WTIL? Would "Space" have gone top
forty?
