Unreleased KLF Track

As many of you will recall a cache of lost and forgotten material was rediscovered during Jimmy's house move early last year. Some of the tracks were liberated by The Junior Insurgent Transmitter Ensemble for the soundtrack to the 2009 M25 Spin. We have produced a single track DVD sampler and will be giving it away to all the "spinners" joining us this year. The track featured is a unique version of the Pure Trance classic What Time Is Love and was recorded and performed by The KLF at the very first Helter Skelter illegal rave held on the 30th September 1989. We will be meeting up at Thurrock Service Station just off the M25 at 11am on Saturday 20th March 2010 and will be on the London Orbital Motorway until 1pm on Sunday 21st March. Every two laps we stop for fuel and pick up passengers / collaborators at Clacket Lane Services (clockwise side). Over Christmas I was re-capturing my old VHS tapes and decided to re-grab the KLF stuff. Quite pleased with how The White Room turned out, the patchwork MPEG artefacts always bothered me on the old rip. I did run them through a cleanup / re-colour process but it just made them too vivid and cloudy. I decided to leave them dirty and desaturated. Fresh cover & tape scan included where I have them. both versions are genuine (both steal Kraftwerk leitmotiv) albeit unfinished or less polished tracks by KLF same as 'Brooklyn, New York' we are sitting here discussing all over the same topics ;) it's not bad but I think we all need something more to happen. when we should try to persuade people who work with The KLF to speak up. Get in touch with Cress, stalk Mark 'Spike' Stent, meet Bill Butt etc. If I lived in UK I would do that. Persistence. Cauty or Drummond appearing somewhere? get there and wave a big sign THE CHILDREN OF MU ARE STILL WAITING. send them like 1000 of letters THE CHILDREN OF MU ARE STILL WAITING.

There would be a recut for the main run. picture discs are made in a different way to regular records. A thin flyer heat resistant like the labels are put onto a thin central part, then clear vinyl parts added on top. If i remember correctly, 'orlake' were one of the only pressing plants which did picture discs. They pressed a lot of their records at Damont audio in Hayes. I would assume they may have done one or the other and thought... Actually this version has a better mixdown etc. And used that on whichever was pressed second. I.used to work down the road from Damont above the EMI pressing plant. Orlake also did colour vinyl. There was another plant i can't remember the name of correctly(acid ?) which later went bust and restarted as pr press. I hope one day my useless info will solve a mystery in the Klf back cat! At one stage i could tell the difference between plants by picking up the vinyl in my hands and flexing it.! I've made a few records myself so I might be able to give a little insight into the process. The first lacquer to be made is given the index A1 (for side A). If the test pressing proves to be satisfactory they go ahead with the production. Still worth becoming 'friends' of PVC - you may find some of these releases are still available. .............................. Wow?um, I've never heard of any of this stuff. Guess I miss out by not buying those PVC discs. :(
