The Black Dog is Ken, but he has worked off and on with partners. I believe Martin and Richard Dust are involved with Dust Science, but I don't know at what artistic level they have input into this incarnation of TBD. It's quite a nice record - something for the head AND for the floor as well. Or, if you want make a copy for heavy use while preserving the original, use a program like DVD Shrink to copy just the movie and the desired audio track to a DVDR. And turn off the TV. I've never done it but IIRC, there needs to be a video stream. You can't just play back an AC3 track alone. Even if it's just black video there still needs to be something there. Something about DVD players are supposed to play video so if there's no video track it won't play the disk. You might want to try to convert it to a DTS track which, assuming it would fit, could be burned to a standard CD (and I'm sure, edited or split). You would need to have a digital out on your CD player (or use your DVD player assuming you have a digital audio connection set up). Don't know how to do it but there are DTS newsgroups where people post their Quad stereo albums in DTS, so it is possible. -paul

If you like the Black Dog then you really should get their new single "Bite Thee Back" on Dust Science Recordings. In my opinion it is the best thing they have done since "Spanners" (with the possible exception of the "Babylon" single)as I wasn't too keen on "Music for adverts..." and didn't really like what I did hear of the "Unsavoury Products" album (although, to be fair, I didn't hear all of it) . there are a number of ways of doing this. See _http://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm_ (http://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm) for a way. Personally, what I do is rip the dvd with DVD Decrypter, the switch to DVD Lab to extract the separate video and audio streams, then use either headac3he or Media Studio Pro to convert the ac3 to a wav. Then Cool Edit to edit if necessary. CDRwav to cut the tracks. But not all of these are free. The above linked guide is for a free program which will do it for you. -paul
