Found the following while browsing: "You might not be familiar with vocalist Doreen Waddell by her name... perhaps not even by her recording name, DO'REEN. But you're quite possibly familiar with her vocals as part of SOUL II SOUL or THE KLF. Sadly, Waddell was struck and killed today by three vehicles on the A27 bypass in Shoreham, West Sussex. But the story gets even sadder: Waddell ran into heavy traffic while being chased by police for allegedly shoplifting from a Tesco supermarket. The road, which had to be closed for nearly 5 hours, was littered with what appeared to be the stolen items. Do'Reen sang lead vocals on two memorable Soul II Soul tracks, "Feel Free" and "Happiness," as well as providing vocals on the KLF's "Mu." http://www.excellentonline.com/article.php3?story_id=688 This must be where rumours of Maxine Harvey's death came from. But did Doreen Waddell ever sing with the KLF? The KLF's "Mu" seems a vague song title, to say the least! Oh - and merry Christmas everybody! John

Someone else mentioned that they will repress them if the demand is great enough, but they said nothing like that to me. Coming this christmas, I assume!? -- "The official KLF press release accompagning "Space" claimed that is was orginally intended as the Orb's debut album, but was now simply Jimmy's own creation, as he'd removed all of Alex's contributions. Alex accepts this: "Space" was done solely by Jimmy. At the end of the day, he took out all of my ideas and replaced them, or just left them as empty spaces. It was a matter of trying to break into a scenario that was happening in "NME" which was the ambient house explosion. I knew it was pointless trying to get an album out to nobody -it had to grow. "I've got a recording of the original version of 'Space, but as far I'm concerned, there's no need for that to ever see the light of day"" (RC 168, p36-41) Is that due to financial matters or just to trigger sales for the first release? Finishes with: "Next mobth: ORB remixes and an update on the KLF market" Anyone read this in september 1993(!) (RC 169). I couldn't find anything... Maarten

Regarding DJ mixes, are there any mixes that include non-klf songs in the majority? You know like a Late Night Tales or Dj Kicks/Back to Mine kinda feel?

Well, since I'm the one who started this thread, I might as well answer to the question to why people sell their KLF collections... In my case, I'm more into making my own music these days, and less into collecting other people's. Not that I don't buy records etc. but I'm not into mad record collecting these days... Currently I'm trying to raise funds for a pair of studio monitors and a better MIDI synth, that's the immediate cause of my sale... The KLF has been a big inspiration for me musicwise though - especially their ambient house era (Chill out, Pure Trance 5, Space, etc.). On my forthcoming album (released on Centaur Discs within a few months) there is a track called "Siberian train" which is partly inspired by the original version of "Last train to trancentral" and even has some train samples from it. On this new track (Xylus pili) you'll find some KLF samples about 7-8 minutes into the track: http://www.johanagebjorn.info/xyluspili.mp3 BTW, my eBay auctions were successful except for the Japanese issue of "The White Room" CD, so if anyone wants that I'll sell it for US$10.
