Depends on the exit price;-) I'm used, as a DJ, to buying 2-sided vinyl at anything up to Â£25 a throw if I want 2 have whatever is reckoned to be this week's dope shit on the decks. I resent the price but several times I've ended up selling them off at a profit. I'll take a bet that these promos end up at Â£100 a throw before summer. As for the CD-R element, well show me a radio promo on CD that AIN'T a CD-R. Not sure what it's called exactly but a while back you could purchase a contraption for about £2000.00 that 'read' original vinyl records and 'copied' them by etching or pressing onto a 'blank' 12" disc. Not sure if such copies differ greatly from the original disc or not, but it's a mu ch easier way to bootleg something than locating the original plates. Perhaps I need to get more sleep. [going OT >] Yes, the film is an unmitigated horror but I couln't help thinking it would be interesting to see something similar based on the Illuminatus mythos or even The White Room! Having identified the template for Jimmy's artwork on "Space" and some of the factual account that inspired the original, I suppose the next question should be why? After all, the themes of the LP are cosmic rather than nautical! For my sins, I watched the second Lara Croft movie - entitled Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Filth, I believe (ahem!) - yesterday evening and was surprised to hear what I thought was one of the refrains from "Chill Out" repeated frequently throughout the score. So convinced was I that I didn't bother tracking the specifics down. Listening to "Chill Out" on the train into work this morning, however, I was less sure and, having returned the video to the rental store, will have to get the damned thing out again and do a proper comparison! I thought it was one of the earlier Tuvan throat singing bits (probably from the original recording, rather than "CO"). Sigh! Has anyone else made the connection? I'd rather not attract the raised eyebrows of my video shop by taking the video out for two nights in a row!
