In the immortal words of Peter Cook, "now is the time to say goodbye ..." My period of convalesence is now over, and I'm back to teacher training feeling relatively fit and healthy. These last few weeks on the KLF have been very interesting and very informative, and I hope the people who are e-mailing me off list will stay in touch. However, the course I am undertaking is very intense (as am I), so I'm afraid I won't be posting much to the list any more. I may still pop by from time to time, and throw in my two-pence. No idea what the techno sample is (or indeed where it occurs, to be honest. Is it the series of decending notes that occur over MC Lyte's rap?) The bird sample, I always thought, was probably from one of those Ray Harryhausen movies ("Quangi", anyone?) or maybe - and for some reason this is number one if my suspect list - "Q The Winged Serpent": http://www.geocities.com/jrgdawg/breviews/qreview.html I saw the movie years ago and I'm pretty sure the noise of the eponymous mythical beast is the self-same one that squawks and screeched above "What Time is Love?" It's not the funny bird sound. These aren't as much unreleased promo albums as they are boots taken from the "radio Soulwax" streaming audio on the soulwax.com site. I found out by way of the 2manydjs.org forum. Believe me, I really wish they were legitimate promos as I paid $120 for parts 1 & 3. The background sample used under WTIL. Any one knows where this one originates? It's after aprox. 35 sec. Not outdated yet :) I am almost certain I've heard this before... The spine simply says "The KLF - This is What the KLF Are About". Both the spine and backcover are black text on pink. The spine is close to the official font. The back is closer to comic sans.
