"The charm of village Italy: Understanding form and function of folk architecture"
Presented by Terry M Madsen
With a informative lecture in images and text that strives to explain why we are so ‘charmed’ by the Hilltowns and Cliffside villages of Italy, and how simple Folk Architecture is at the core of ‘La Dolce Vita’. Inspired by the book “Italian Hilltowns” by Norman F. Carver, Terry has travelled and photographed in Italy for the past 10 years searching for many of the idyllic villages mentioned in the book.
Terry has a B.A. degree in Interior Design from BYU and has had her photographs published in many magazines including the National Italian American Foundation’s “Ambassador”.
