This ceremony kicks-off the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Salt Lake 2002.

Returning to the venue that staged the magical Opening Ceremonies 10 years ago to the day, several Olympic & Paralympic heroes will relight the cauldron at Olympic Cauldron Park on the south end of Rice-Eccles stadium.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., this brief 30-minute ceremony is open to the public and will be broadcast live on KSL 5 TV.

On Saturday, February 18, 2012, an outdoor sport festival will be held in the streets of The Gateway shopping center in downtown Salt Lake City.

During the street festival, participants will have an opportunity to meet winter Olympic athletes, participate in interactive winter sport demonstrations and view commemorative exhibits about the 2002 Winter Games.

The festival will also serve as an official stop for the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) “Road to London” Tour – a family-friendly, interactive experience that offers fans a chance to learn about the Olympic Movement, participate in simulated events and meet athletes. The 2012 Road to London Tour, sponsored by Hilton HHonors, Samsung and TD Ameritrade, will make a total of four stops before culminating in Chicago in July.

Relive the memories and reunite with friends, families and Team 2002 staff & volunteers at this special event that celebrates the success and ongoing legacies of the 2002 Games.

As the showcase of the 10 Year Celebration, this one-of-a-kind production will combine the remarkable highlights of Salt Lake 2002 with skating performances by Gold Medalists Sarah Hughes, Jamie Sale & David Pelletier and others from the Emmy-award winning Stars On Ice tour.

Special guest appearances to include Olympic champions and Mitt Romney - the leader of Team 2002.

For those who were a part of these historic Games - as athletes, volunteers or spectators - this event will take you back to 2002. And for those too young to remember, this show will inspire them as if they were actually there in 2002.
