GSL Slip Renters, This last week we have had two late night security breaches at the marina. Both are a result of people coming into the marina for reasons that were not quite of honest intentions. One person had the combination to the gate. The second person had the combination to the gate and a key to the dock. Neither were slip renters. Nor had they ever been slip renters. Please do not give out the gate code. Not even to your guests. If you have guests you are expecting please meet them at the gate and let them in. Do not give keys to ANYONE except family members. We are still trying to sort out how these people gained access to keys and combos but, in both cases, they had some kind of relation to a slip renter or some kind of relation to someone who had a connection to a slip renter. The second scenario is truly troubling. Our budget at the marina is very small. We cannot afford to rekey and recode the gate every time we have an incident like this let alone once a year. We are all responsible for the security of the marina, our boats, and our neighbors boats. PLEASE keep all gates closed and locked (THIS INCLUDES 'K' DOCK AND 'I' DOCK - these docks are rarely locked). PLEASE do not distribute keys. PLEASE do not give out gate codes. I do appreciate it.
