GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users For several years I used to organize field trips around the Great Salt Lake to see some of the many colorful sites that are worth seeing. Some of the past field trips took us to Antelope Island, Spiral Jetty, The North End (Monument Rock, Locomotive Springs, Kelton), The West End (Hogup Mountains, Buenaventura Canal, The West Desert pumps, the bombing range, Lakeside Mountains), as well as The Sun Tunnels and Kelton. These were road trips that we usually did during the spring. With the low water levels there are other ways to enjoy the lake. Is there interest in restarting these trips this spring? I am thinking of an early spring trip to Antelope Island that would include the Visitor Center, a picnic at the historic Garr Ranch House and a stop off at the Hill AFB Museum. And then maybe a later spring trip circumnavigating the Great Salt Lake via car. This would include the Spiral Jetty, The Golden Spike Monument, Monument Rock, Locomotive Springs, The ghost town of Kelton, the old Continental Railroad bed, Crocodile Mountain, Hogup Mountains, and Lakeside. Please let me know if there is some interest in revisiting these outreach progam field trips. If so, I will prioritize them and get them on the calendar.
