Just a quick update on dredging. The dredgers estimate they are just shy of 50% complete with dredging work. They feel they are on schedule or just ahead of being on schedule. Depths between C and D dock are approaching 10 feet deep. That is our target depth for all areas being dredged based on a lake level of 4195.5'. So we hope to see depths in the dredged areas of around 11.5' or more after spring runoff tops off late June or early July. I expect the lake will drop 1 to 1.5 feet by fall leaving us with a depth of 10' in the dredged areas. This is day 18 of the actual dredging work. They hope to be complete with all dredging work by early to mid-June. In the meeting today the dredgers talked about some of the interesting things they are finding on the bottom of the marina. Lots of carpet. And interestingly a LOT of bow lights. Crane Day is May 25. We have a VERY limited amount of slips available. So if you are even thinking of going in May 25 you better contact me quick to check on availability of slips. Otherwise you will have to wait until dredging work is complete and docks are re-assembled. Please remember that we will need EVERY boat to go back in the water within 30 days of dredging completion or make arrangements to move the boat to another storage facility. This does not include boats that were already in storage before we had to pull boats. Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is hosting their OPENING DAY ceremonies on Saturday, May 6. The dredgers will shut down for the day to accommodate all the activities. The yacht club also starts their Wednesday night series on May 10th. Please take note that the dredgers will not shut down operations on Wednesday's until 6:30pm. A full list of activities for the Yacht Club can be found at www.gslyc.org <http://www.gslyc.org> . Also remember that the Harbor Master Eardley Spit cruise will be Saturday, June 10th. Mark that on your calendar. This is always a great event. Maybe we can plan a barbecue for this year. One more note on dredging. They plan to start working on the mouth of the marina very soon. When this happens it will be necessary to close all boat traffic in and out of the marina for the few days that this work is taking place. Sundays are always a good day to go sailing as there will be no dredging work on Sundays. This is going to be a great year!
