IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THOSE ON THE CRANE LIST. 1. I'm trying to finalize the date for Crane Day. I know MANY of you have asked me to postpone crane day because weather has delayed people getting their boats done in time. Sometime today or tomorrow I hope to tie down a date but it will most likely be between April 23rd to April 26th. So please plan accordingly. 2. I will need Boat Slip Leases from everyone going in to a slip. I will also need a copy of your CURRENT registration (MANDATORY by LAW) and a copy of proof of insurance. Boat Slip Lease and Autopay form are attached to this email. Get them back to me ASAP. I will need them BEFORE you put your boat in the water. DO NOT SEND THEM BACK TO ME AS A REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. DOING SO WILL SEND YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO EVERYONE. Send it in a separate email thread to harbormaster@gslmarina.com<mailto:harbormaster@gslmarina.com> or bring them by my office (you can also send it snail mail). 3. Please check the list below to make sure you are on the list. If you are on the list but DO NOT PLAN to go in, please let me know ASAP so I can cancel your reservation. Understand that I have changed this a bit as I/we have been burned in the past. The cost of the crane depends on how many owners/boats are on the list. The more boats we have the cheaper the crane is for everyone. If there are 15 boats on the list then the price is based on those 15 boats. But when we set the price and then have boats/owners that don't show up, the cost goes up for everyone (happens every crane day and it is a BIG headache). So this year we are going to have a non-refundable deposit to be on the crane list to keep prices reasonable and not to shock people afterwards with a price increase. The non-refundable deposit is $75.00 that goes towards the cost of your crane. If you are on the list and don't show up on crane day you forfeit that deposit as it will go to still pay the crane and keep costs down. You can call me to make arrangements for the crane deposit. 4. Please make sure you have plenty of help to get your boat in the water. We just don't have the volunteer base that we used to. If you can't be here on crane day you must make sure someone is here to be responsible for your boat. This is how we used to do things before five years ago. Everyone was responsible for their own boat and making sure they had the help they needed to get their boat in the water. 5. MAKE SURE YOUR MOTOR WORKS or YOU HAVE GOOD PADDLES. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING YOUR BOAT TO YOUR ASSIGNED SLIP. 6. If you ARE willing to donate some time to the community and volunteer to help out on crane day please let me know. We have pretty well burned through past volunteers. 7. If you aren't planning on putting your boat back in the marina this year and your boat is being stored in the parking lot you need to start thinking of alternate storage areas. We do not plan to store boats in the parking lot moving forward. But on a brighter note, the lake continues to come up A LOT. The mouth of the marina is over 5 feet deep now and should come up another 2 feet. We have lots of activities planned for this year starting with Opening Day/Blessing of the fleet. The Eardley Spit Cruise is coming back. There is a group planning on holding a large event somewhat reminiscent of SAILFEST mid-June (more details to follow as soon as I hear). And Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is coming back. Get out and enjoy the lake! Dave
