April 22, 2017 - RACE ORIENTATION & BUOY RACE 10:00 am Race Orientation & Skippers Meeting 12:00 pm Race Start May 6, 2017 - OPENING DAY, BLESSING OF THE FLEET, BOAT PARADE & FASCINATOR HAT AWESOMENESS! 10:00 am Race Orientation 11:30 am Buoy Race Start sponsored by UINTAH BREWING CO. 3:30 pm Captains Meeting & Opening Day Prayer by Reverend Leroy Carter at the Yacht Club Pavilion NOTE - YOU MUST REQUEST YOUR BOAT BE BLESSED, all boats in the water will need to parade by K Dock, where Reverend Carter will be Blessing the Fleet. We will make accommodations to have Reverend Carter walk the parking lot and bless the boats that have not returned to the water yet (upon owners request) 4:00 pm Blessing of the Fleet to begin at the end of K Dock - Boats will come down the channel, turn around in the back bay and then pass by K Dock where Rev. Carter will perform the blessings 5:30 pm Kentucky Derby Social & Dinner - the Yacht Club will provide a traditional Southern dish of Hoppin' John (ham with rice and black eyed peas) Ladies - Wear your Kentucky Derby Fascinator Hats! Bring your own beverages and favorite Southern side dish or dessert to share Dinner included with current GSLYC membership.
