GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users. First of all, we will still be sending out contracts and autopay forms to those that are still in the water or are in one of the dry storage lots. We are behind on our schedule due to all the snow plowing we have been doing lately. On to better things now. We were on the water most of yesterday. While out there we noticed that the currents are very strong on the lake right now. Currents on the lake during the winter are usually very light to non-existent. Yet these currents are more like what we see in April during a year with strong spring runoff. This means we are getting a lot of water flowing into the lake. If you spend enough time on the lake you will start to be able to determine the fresh water flowing on top of the saltier base water. We are also seeing a lot of this too. There is a lot of pre-dredging activity going on right now. We plan to have an update on imminent dredging activity during the Harbor Master's Clam Chowder Social at the end of January. We will also have an update on what lake level predictions look like. Right now they look very positive. The Harbor Master's Clam Chowder social will be Saturday, January 28th at 1pm at the Great Salt Lake Marina. If weather permits, it will be over at my deck. Otherwise it will be at the Yacht Club. Please bring your favorite clam chowder recipe or side dish. Weather forecasts and water temperatures on www.gslmarina.com <http://www.gslmarina.com> will not be available from January 17th through the 27th. They will return on January 28th.
