GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users. June is a very busy month at the marina with plenty of opportunities to get on the water. Here is a list of some of those events: Great Salt Lake Row is hosting a Learn to Row Day on Saturday, June 7th. This is an opportunity to try out rowing shells. Visit www.gslr.org <http://www.gslr.org> for more information. Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is hosting their Summer Regatta #1 This Saturday, June 7th and June 8th. Visit www.gslyc.org <http://www.gslyc.org> for more information. The Harbor Master is hosting his 2nd annual Harbor Master Eardley Spit Cruise. Don't miss the biggest cruising event of the year! Last year we had 28 boats participate. Let's break that record this year. This is a cruise to one of the nicest beaches on Great Salt Lake. The cruise is this Saturday, June 7th. Captains Meeting will be at 11am at the marina pavilion. We will have beach games such as volleyball, bocce ball, horse shoes and more. Bring your paddleboard, kayak, or dinghy. And bring something for a picnic. Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim is holding two events this Saturday. The first one is a long distance swim from Antelope Island to Black Rock. The second swim is from Great Salt Lake Marina to Black Rock. SAILFEST starts Wednesday, June 11th with the Captain David L. Davis Founders Cup. Skippers Meeting is 6pm at the marina pavilion. The event really gets rocking on Friday, June 13th with Opening Ceremonies and a barbecue. Saturday, June 14th is the main event of SAILFEST with a full day of activities. The Volunteer Search & Rescue Team will be cooking breakfast. There will be a large dinner in the evening followed by live music and dancing. Games throughout the day for the kids. On June 21st the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is hosting a learn-to-sail event for junior sailors. Visit www.gslyc.org <http://www.gslyc.org> for more information. On Saturday, June 28th the Hawaiian Canoe Club is hosting their annual Duke Fest. And the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is hosting the Pepsi Cup offshore race. Don't forget that the Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is hosting Wednesday Night Racing all summer (until the water becomes too shallow).
