It has been a long 2 ½ years since the earthquake and all the damage to the road happened. And it has been a long, strange path to get forward movement on the road. But we are finally there! There are still some final agreements that need to happen between several government entities but road repairs will begin in the next week or two. This first round of repairs are to fix the road base so the road is smoother and more palatable to drive on. This should take less than a week. There are several long sections of road that are still sinking and settling. These have not been torn out yet and must be to complete repairs. Those sections will be torn out late winter or early spring. Once those sections have been completed, all the sections that were damaged will be paved over. In the meantime, when you come out this weekend for Turkey Fest, please drive very careful and alert on the road. Take your time. There are numerous very large potholes since our last rain storm. We have constantly been putting down road base in the potholes but just can't keep up with the damage. I hope to have news on dredging very soon but right now we just don't have enough details to put out a meaningful email about what is in store for dredging. Hope to see most of you tomorrow for the turkey fest. We had a LOT of RSVP's. Dave
