Severe Weather Warning! A Storm Warning has been issued for the whole Great Salt Lake. In addition the NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for NW Utah through 9pm this evening. We are currently tracking a few thunder cells that will affect the Great Salt Lake. And the weather charts are showing ripe conditions for developing storms through the day and late evening. We may see very strong winds with gusts over 70mph, dangerous lightning, hail up to 1.5 inches thick and brief heavy rain. The cells we are currently tracking are showing substantial energy. We may increase our weather warning to a "Hurricane Force Warning" later this afternoon. If you have any loose items on or around your boat or you are concerned about your dock lines, now would be a good time to secure your property.
