For those that are craning out this Thursday, below is the order of pulling out. Some important notes: 1. Your mast MUST be down in order to pull your boat. We cannot store your boat on-site with your mast up. It is guaranteed to tip over in the wind. If you have any doubt I will gladly provide pictures of the many boats that did tip over in the parking lot due to masts being up. 2. If you have a trailer, stands, or cradle that isn't here yet please get it here before Thursday. Cradles and Stands should be delivered no later than tomorrow night. Trailers will be easier to deliver by tomorrow night but can show up on Crane Day. 3. Many have asked the price of the crane. With the lake so low the crane has to reach farther than normal. This is requiring us to bring out a 120 ton crane to lift boats from the water. This is not a cheap crane to get out here, set up, and rent per hour. But because we have so many boats signed up the cost of the large crane is $85.00 for ten minute slots. If you take longer than 10 minutes on the large crane then we go into the next 10 minute block of time. For those that will be putting on to their own trailers you will only need to use the large crane. For those that are going onto stands or cradles you will also need to use the smaller 70 ton crane. The cost of this crane is $65.00 for ten minute slots. 4. You will not need to position your trailers, stands or cradles beforehand. That will be done by the you and the volunteer crew just prior to your boat being lifted onto the cradle or stands. Trailers will be staged in the NW parking lot (by E and D dock). If you decide to keep your tow vehicle attached to your trailer that is fine. Otherwise we will pull your trailer to the crane out spot at the appropriate time. Please put your name visibly on the tongue of the trailer. This can be done with masking tape and a sharpie. Also, if you have stands or cradles, make sure they are clearly marked with your name. 5. Please be prepared to pay crane costs on Thursday after your boat is lifted onto your trailer, cradle or stands. I have finally figured out how to take credit cards so you can pay by check, cash or credit card. Thank you. 6. Most of the parking lot will be closed by Wednesday evening in preparation for staging the cranes. No vehicles will be allowed into the south parking lot Wednesday night or Thursday. The only exception will be those hooked to their own trailer when it is time to crane your own boat onto the trailer. Parking your vehicles will be allowed in the camp area and the gravel area near the visitor center. 7. It could rain so be prepared for that. We will go in the rain. We will postpone crane activities if we have severe lightning or wind. If that is the case we may need to go into Friday. Sorry, but I cannot control the weather. We will do what we need to do to keep everyone safe. 8. We have some great volunteers that are generously donating their time for this Crane Day. They include the selfless Search & Rescue volunteers for GSL as well as some generous slip renters that just want to be here and help. Thank you to all. 9. The crane-out list is pretty well set in stone. It was designed in the particular order to keep both cranes going as fast as possible and avoid dead time on the crane. We can average about four boats an hour if all goes well. If your number for craning out is below 18 please be here in the morning. The crane starts lifting boats at 9am. If your number is higher than 18 please plan to be here around noon. We will go all day until we are done or wind shuts us down. This may mean we will still be craning boats at 7pm. I want to do whatever we can to avoid going into Friday. 10. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call me. If you see "Not Checked In" near your name and plan to pull please contact me as I have not heard a confirmation for you. 1. Bashore 2. Pitman 3. Rukavina 4. Oswald 5. Richtsteig 6. Atkin 7. Sipin 8.
