GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users. It is now fall and time for some updates and changes. MAST DROP PARTY Are you planning on pulling your boat on Crane Day? I know I am. I have organized a Mast Drop Party for Sunday, October 23rd at 11am. Let's all help each other drop our masts in preparation for Crane Day. I will have a crock pot of Chili. Other side dishes are welcome. Please RSVP so I know how much Chili to bring. CRANE DAY Crane day is Friday, November 4th at 9am SHARP. Crane spots are being handled BY RESERVATION ONLY. First Come, First Served. Please rsvp to dshearer@gslmarina.com as soon as possible so I know what size crane to bring in. I will bring in the smallest, most economical crane we can get by with. As far as I've heard this is the only crane day for this fall. The next known crane day will be mid March. PUMPKIN PATCH SOCIAL and REGATTA The GSLYC annual Pumpkin Patch Social and Regatta is Saturday October 22nd. Rumor has it there will be kids activities, an evening social and trick-or-treating on the docks for the kids. And rumor also has it that with the water up we will be able to return to the old regatta format on the water with bonuses for costumes, etc. Stay tuned to www.gslyc.org for more information. PULLING THE RACE BUOYS On Saturday, October 15th we will be pulling the buoys for the year. The yacht club needs some volunteers to help with the task. The fringe benefit of helping is a ride on Rescue One (I know, it's not that exciting). There is a lot of important information about when the water will be turned off, Slip rates, Contract Renewals, along with Deep and Reef Channels. In order to save money on a very tight budget this year we are going to change how we will handle contract renewals. The Marina News covers some of these changes. I will also be sending an email out shortly that goes into specifics of the renewal Process. REMEMBER that ALL Slip Rent Contracts and ALL Credit Card Autopay forms EXPIRE December 31st.
