GSL SLIP RENTERS.

Ok, my intention is not to scare everyone.  It is merely to keep you as informed as possible.  As I have stated in previous emails our water situation is not only bad.  It is absolutely dire right now.  We had two boats get stuck in the mud this weekend between K dock and J dock.  This was while they were attempting to get to the mast crane to drop their masts.  Any boat needing to crane out must pass down this K dock – J dock fairway in order to get to the Crane Out slip.

The lake is done coming up and is showing signs of starting to drop.  Snowpack decreases daily.

So the hard truth is if you have a draft of over three feet YOU MUST PULL YOUR BOAT OUT by the end of May.  As I stated in earlier email versions of this harsh-reality email, we cannot successfully dredge the marina if you are stuck in your slip.

We have a crane day on April 23rd and April 24th.  We are bringing in a very large crane in order to accommodate the reach as well as the weight of some of the boats.  But because we have so many boats signed up for those days the cost of the cranes are surprisingly reasonable.  Consider pulling out on April 23rd-April 24th.  If not PLEASE plan on pulling out by the end of May if you have a draft over 3 feet.

The depth at the mouth of the marina (and down the J Dock – K Dock fairway) is 4.7 feet.  Those depths will be 4 feet by late May.

For the lucky boats that can stay in and are in the west basin of the marina, we will be giving you new temporary slip assignments in the south basin in order to accommodate you since the west basin is shallower.  We will keep you informed of temporary slip assignments.

PLEASE TAKE THIS EMAIL SERIOUSLY.  Mother Nature has dealt us a harsh and that we must now deal with.

Dredging is around the corner.  I am hearing good news that might help speed up the process so that dredging can happen soon after July 1st.  And I am hearing encouraging news about how deep we will be able to dredge.  BUT WE NEED ANY BOAT THAT WILL BE STUCK IN THE MARINA TO PULL OUT so that dredging can be successful.

It is not too late to get on the April 23rd-24th crane day.  Also, it is not too late to get your name on the May crane day (date to be announced later).

Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks

Dave
