GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
Update: Sunday afternoon 8-18-07
We are continuing the Storm Warning for the GSL
Marina area and the Great Salt Lake.
We are still experiencing thunderstorms with strong
downdrafts, lightning and heavy rain at times.
The current charts show this continuing through the
evening and night.
Forecasts for tomorrow show the potential for the
same along with a breezy SW flow.
If you choose to sail tomorrow please keep a close
lookout towards the Oquirrh mountains, the Tooele Valley, Stansbury Island and
the Stansbury Mountains for developing thunderheads.
Please monitor NOAA weather radio for weather
updates.
At this time, I anticipate we will still be under a
Storm Warning through most of tomorrow.
On another note: Deep Channel buoy G1 broke
loose today and is now on the beach near Saltair. We will not be able to
retrieve it until sometime tomorrow. It will probably be mid week before
this buoy is back in place.
Thank you
