After a disastrous snowpack this fall we had quite the recovery.

A week ago we were sitting at 65% snowpack for the Great Salt Lake drainage area.  Today we are at 102% with our critical Bear River drainage at 109%

Our most critical months are coming up.  January February and March are our critical months.

Right now, the NWS is stating we have equal chances of wet or dry conditions for the next three months with the area just above our drainage area being forecasted as much wetter than normal.

Another bit of good news is that the lake is finally at relative equilibrium.  After losing all our lake level gains this year to the eroding dam at the breach and poring into the north half we are now in a good position for the south half to come up normally rather than just losing it all to the orth half like we did this summer and fall.

What does this new year hold in store for us?  I don’t know.  But there is reason for hope again.
