Weather Predictions for
Wednesday and Weekend Activities
(Based on current charts
reported 6-2-08)
Wednesday
Cloudy, Stormy at times with
showers, thunderstorms and lightning possible. Blustery NW winds with
moderate to heavy seas. NW winds begin to build around 5pm and peak around
3am on thursday. Small Craft Advisory is likely. Storm Warning is
possible. Temperatures well below normal.
Saturday
Partly sunny with highs around
75 degrees. Lows around 51 degrees. Moderate N winds 14 to 24 and
moderate seas around 2 to 4 feet.
Sunday
Partly sunny with near normal
temperatures. Moderate to strong north winds gusting to 30 during the day
and building to 40mph gusts by evening. Moderate to heavy north seas are
likely.
Lake Level
Assessment
All three rivers are expected to
have increased flow for the next few days before declining flows return around
June 9th. This may help to give the lake a slight bump in lake level but
is not expected to bring any significant rise for the next week. Still too
early to tell what the eventual lake level will be.
Brine Shrimp
Brine Shrimp have finally had a
very healthy hatch and the water visibility is very good now.
Brine Flies
The Brine Flies have also begun
a limited hatch. The good news, though, is that the no-see-ums seem to be
gone.
Spider Hatch
The spiders have also begun to
hatch. Raid Ant & Roach Killer (Raid in a green can) works very
well on them.
Frontage Road - Limited
Access - June 9th
Rocky Mountain Power will be
running a power line accross our frontage road between Saltair and the Marina on
Monday, June 9th. In order to do this they will need to limit access
to-and-from the marina that day. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at a
time. If you do not need to come to the marina that day then avoid the
headache.
Upcoming
Events
This weekend is a very busy one
for the marina. Several activities are planned by different groups.
Parking could be tight. Please try to utilize proper parking spaces so we
may accomodate everyone. Next week will even be busier with
Sailfest.

Sailfest
Sail Fest begins next
week. This is always a very great event and worth attending. It also
brings a few challenges. The parking lot will be very tight. Please
utilize proper parking stalls. Try not to overhang into the driving area
of the parking lot. If you are bringing motor homes please try to utilize
the gravel trailer parking in the north parking lot. If you are bringing
boats out, please detatch and park your trailer in the
day trailer parking area so we may free up parking stalls. If you do
not have to have your dogs here please leave them at home. Even dogs on
leashes becomes a problem at the main gathering area during this event.
Dog fights are common. People being tripped by leashes has been another
problem. (Rudy, leave your dog at home. He likes to pee on people
sitting down on the grass). Do not use or park on the service road behind
the Ranger Station. Do not park near the fuel tank by Rescue One. We
must have this area cleared at all times.
Boat
Registrations
As promised, the park Rangers
are planning on walking the docks near the end of this week to inspect boat
registration. Hopefully you have all had time to get your current stickers
on.
