WOW!  Even though November was dryer than normal, October and December are making up for that so far.  We have quite a bit of snow out here at the marina.  Besides the initial storm we were the recipient of direct Lake Effect snow last night.  There is a tad less than a foot of snow out here.  But remember that it doesn’t take a lot of snow to push a boat down far enough in the water to potentially sink it in its slip.  Don’t forget to check on your boats every once in a while during this winter.

Snow numbers are looking very good so far.  We are at 125% snowpack for the Great Salt Lake drainage area.  That is exactly where we need to remain at a minimum to make a difference with our low lake levels.  I would like to see the Bear River drainage higher though.  It is only 118% but that is still very good.

Our direct precipitation for the water (October to May) is 128% so far.  Another very good number.

Remember that we are going into an El Nino.  Statistically that means two things for the Great Salt Lake drainage area . . . either we are going to be much wetter than normal . . . or we are going to be much dryer than normal.  I am still a bit pessimistic of our chances of being a wet winter.  But the numbers are looking good right now.
