An approaching storm front mixing with monsoonal moisture will bring blustery SW winds w/ strong gust near thunderstorms over the Great Salt Lake area today. Winds in excess of 60mph are possible with brief heavy rain and lightning. Wind preceeding the front is pushing substantial water north away from the Great Salt Lake Marina. This has caused a drop in lake level at the mouth of the marina. This loss of water may make it difficult and dangerous for moderate to deep draft boats to access the lake or return from the lake through the marina mouth.

A Storm Warning has been issued for the whole of Great Salt Lake. This storm warning will likely last through Labor Day.
