GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users.

Dry storage and the parking lot were cleaned up today by the maintenance crew.  Any loose or potentially dangerous objects were removed.  Much of this ended up in the dumpster.  Some of it was secured by the maintenance crew and can be claimed (I do not know what items were secured). Most of the items that ended up in the dumpster was pure trash, such as rags, paint cans, beer cans and bottles, paint brushed and trays, stir sticks, gloves, damaged wood, etc.  And then other stuff may have blown into the swamp or on the beach between the marina and Saltair (I walked the beach last evening and found a fair amount of marina debris as far as a mile away).  We did have some boat owners point out damage to their boats from flying objects (including a ladder).  If you had a ladder and can no longer find it, check an adjacent trailer or check with the maintenance crew (or in the swamp next to dry storage).  Loose ladders we did find were not thrown away.  They were temporarily secured

We will begin working on debris in the water today.  What we find and feel is salvageable we will keep for one week.  After that it will be donated to the land fill.  If you are missing items from around your slip, please come see us before next Wednesday.  We may have found and secured it.

We will begin cleaning up the docks tomorrow afternoon.  Anything unsecured or not to policy will be removed.  If you have objects you want to claim and do not want removed, please remove it yourself tonight, or email me so these items are not removed at this time..  Please do not call my cell phone or office phone about items you want to keep. I prefer emails where I can track items more easily.  I will check my emails on a regular basis.

Items secured to the docks, such as boarding ladders, steps, dock boxes, power cords, hoses, spars or dingies (that are properly secured and have had prior permisison to be placed on a dock finger) will not be removed. Nor will satellite dishes that are properly and safely secured. Grills securely attached to the dock will not be removed at this time either, yet we may want to revisit this at a later date.

We are pushing to get this cleanup all complete by this weekend.  We are expecting another strong wind event by Saturday and want to make that we have eliminated any potentially dangerous trajectories or fuel spill hazards.

Thank you, for your understanding.
